walking with wisdom

browse around these guys For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Have you ever stopped and really thought about how big God’s promises are? YOU and your life are divinely ordained to reveal God’s character to others. Your talents and passions were uniquely prepared by God to bring a glimpse of heaven here to earth.

That humbles me to no end. Me? little me with a big mess of a life. Fallen and broken to pieces. How can it be that God has hand-picked me to do great work?

And then I look into my daughter’s eyes. Looking past my reflection and into her trusting soul, I begin to understand the depth of our Father’s love and can see how important my role really is. If I am able to make a difference, touch just one person, let it be this little one.

And that’s just it, my big ol’ mess is the very thing that has molded and refined me, bringing me closer to God and, hence, on this journey of discovering my purpose.

My path has been a rocky one. A little over three years ago, I got divorced when Capri was just 18 months old. The next couple of years, during the divorce trial, were the hardest years of my life. Looking back, I thought I was letting God be in control, but really, I had given that authority to others.

I was a follower. I developed a pattern of trusting in people and letting their advice lead my actions. I had no idea what my own voice sounded like, and in-turn, could not distinguish God’s voice from my own fear. Confusion and paralysis seemed to be my constant state and I felt broken. What happens when you silence your feelings and numb your pain, never allowing yourself to fully heal because you do not want to begin to hurt? When you silence your emotions, you are silencing God’s voice, who is alive in you.

So prayed for God. I prayed for wisdom and to be closer to Him. To hear and discern His voice above all others. I began to notice God speaking to me through my emotions and reaffirming it in scripture. What I learned was to trust my heart and the shift of listening to my gut {to God’s voice} started to happen.

The end of last year, while I was thinking about my intentions for 2014, I asked myself, “What would you do this new year if you were convinced that God was with you?” My desire was to grow closer to God and to live out my God-given purpose. Without making checklists and holding myself accountable the way I would with other goals, I just prayed that I would continue to hear God speak to me.

The year is not over yet and I am hearing God’s word differently than I ever have before. I am learning more and more about who Jesus is. Everyday I have light bulb moments and find new connections. It is really exciting and it just makes me eager to learn more. I think to myself, “Oh, just wait until you see how far you’ll come tomorrow!”

God is in control today. The only thing I can really control is my own behavior. And Jesus left us with one commandment on how to behave: to LOVE.

So through my mess, the Intentional Collection™ was born.

I leaked a couple sneak peaks on Instagram for over a year but never felt like the work was ready. Then, I distinctly heard God say, neurontin capsule cap 300 mg “Now is the time. Go!” and with great joy, I released the first products from the new Intentional Collection: LOVE

What does being intentionally good look like? God has refined that phrase in me to mean shifting from making good choices to making wise choices. I began to pray for wisdom and just found clarity of what that is. It’s God’s voice. It’s His Word. He is Wisdom. I’m praying for Him! I want to be close to God and know His voice louder than any other.

I need God all around me. It’s not just to sit for 20 minutes with a devotional and then go into my routine life, disconnecting. I want to stay connected to Him with all of my thoughts, all of my words, and all of my actions. My hope for this new Intentional Line is that it becomes whispers of God’s word in your heart. When you see the symbols, words, and verses, you will be gently reminded to live closer to God. To walk with Wisdom.

If you are confused like I have been, PRAY. Pray with perseverance for God’s voice to be clear. And in the meantime, open your bible. Read His word. One moment your answer will be as clear as day and you will know your path, without a doubt, comes from Him.

As I raise Capri, I want to teach her how to pray and how to be still and listen to God, who is within her. With that firm foundation she will learn to trust her gut, right where the Holy Spirit speaks to her. As parents, we do everything in our power to protect our children from going through tough times but mistakes are inevitable. We can equip them the way God equips us: with wise council and with His word. And when we fail, He can still turn our mistakes around and use it for His goodness. “And as we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
How great is our God!

The verses on this page are my daily vitamins; my source of inspiration and encouragement through my toughest days. I pray that if you are going through a dark season in your life, you will know that God can make (even this) good. He may even reveal your purpose through it. Pray boldly for that, friends. It would be my honor to pray for you too, no matter what season you may be in. Your story will be light to others and we need to hear it. I would love to hear what verse speaks loudest to you today and why. Please share your favorites in the comments below.

with His love, xoxo
