RECONCILE {WELL}

what do we do until Jesus comes back?

By

DEMI AND JENN-01

I stayed up late last night because 1.8 miles from where I lay my head at night my city was being attacked by 3 snipers. 11 police officers were shot and 5 died after a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas. The attack was a response to the recent Alton Sterling and Philando Castile deaths and other deaths of black men by police officers. Fear is the tool of choice the enemy is using to wreck havoc on our world. And the truth is, it will not stop until Jesus returns and brings those who believe with Him into a new earth with no evil, no fear, no pain.

I am mourning with my friends of color.

I am mourning with my family in law enforcement.

I am mourning with my city.

I am mourning with my world.

I cried out, Jesus, come quickly!

neurontin 800 mg But what do we do in the mean time?

  1. http://southsea-golf.co.uk/match-play-shield/ Pray. Let us pray to be good listeners. Pray for compassion. Pray for GOD’s understanding, not our own. Pray about WHAT we can do. Pray for discernment on what to say. Pray for God’s agenda, not our own. Pray with others.
  2. Don’t be silent. Call your friends who live in fear, so many are living in fear. Mourn with them, weep with them. Strive to understand them.
  3. Make friends with those that don’t look like you. Find real authentic friendships where trust and grace is the foundation. This can be complicated issue, but don’t let it silence us or divide us. May we love them hard and love them {well}.
  4. Have the hard conversations with them – It’s scary at first, you don’t know what to say or fear you will say the wrong thing. An amazing tool and movement that I am honored to even have the tiniest part in is called Be A Bridge – equipping the world to do the work of racial reconciliation. It was founded by my friend and much needed teacher, Latasha Morrison. The site walks you through where and how to start the conversations. She even has curriculum to use if you want to gather a group of friends. Go there NOW.

It feels helpless knowing this world will not see true world peace this side of heaven. But I don’t think Jesus would want us to do nothing until He got back.

Let’s be DREAMERS of reconciliation and DOERS of the Word.little-bird

xoxo, Jenn

July 8th at 3pm there was a Live Stream with Jennie Allen and Tasha Morrison talking about race reconciliation and all that is going on. Link Here to watch the replay

    […] What Do We Do Until Jesus Comes Back // This is a blog post from July, but I truly loved it! It helped me this week to be aware of fear and to pray for those who are aching. […]
